It was on doctor’s orders that Holmes and I found ourselves taking a break in Cornwall. Holmes’ health was suffering and his doctor told him he needed complete rest. But it wasn’t long before we were involved in a very strange case - against my better judgment.
Brenda Tregennis had died and her brothers left senseless at their home after an evening playing cards. The woman appeared to have been frightened to death.
In order to solve the case we undertook a dangerous experiment, but even Holmes had not realised how dangerous.
“I owe you both my thanks and an apology. It was an unjustifiable experiment even for oneself and doubly so for a friend. I am really very sorry.”
The artefact we chose from this story was a lamp as that helped us solve the case.
