I was resting indoors, reading the newspaper, when Holmes returned from his afternoon stroll. An envelope with a huge crest and monogram on it was waiting for him.
“I assure you, Watson , without affectation, that the status of my client is of less moment to me than the interest of his case.”
This case was to do with the disappearance of Lord St. Simon’s wife at their wedding breakfast. She had completely disappeared and the only things found were her wedding outfit and ring, floating near the margin of the Serpentine.
The artefact we chose from this story was a bouquet as the seemingly trivial incident of the bride dropping this in the church set Holmes on the right path to solving the mystery.
